LETS GET REAL ...

There are currently 7.8 billion human embodied souls clinging to this little rock called earth as it hurtles through outer space, rotating on its axis at 1000 mph, whizzing around the sun at 67,000 mph, whirling inside our solar system which is spinning at 490,000 mph around the centre of our Milky Way galaxy, all of which is heading towards the Great Attractor in the constellation of Leo at 1000 miles a second. Mindblowing ! and we’re totally unaware of it !!

Meanwhile in inner space (which is actually the same space as outerspace) infinitesimally small vibrating particles apparently emerge from nothing to coalesce together to form atoms, molecules, and somehow develop into ‘solid’ moving conscious lifeforms. Again, we’re totally unaware and uninvolved in this process !!

Its miraculous that our human bodies grow and operate totally without our conscious involvement too, (apart from the obvious gratification of needs, like input and output of food etc.) The heart beats, blood flows, we are breathed, digest, senses connect us to the outer world. This incredibly complex human body functions mostly without any conscious organising effort from its inhabiting soul. We’re totally unaware of it !!

What we are aware of most of the time though, is the tiny voice in our head that seems to dominate our existence completely, telling us what and who we should like or dislike, what we should fear, who we should be, and even criticising what we are. This is the unreal world we live in, an inner world constructed from illusory fears and fantasies. Unfortunately we project this imaginary world outwards into our interactions with the other 7.8 billion humans, and so it should be no surprise that the result is the chaos and mayhem we now see on planet earth. Occasionally the awesomeness of mother nature heals us back to some equilibrium, but the painful reality is that the human species are looking more and more irredeemably insane !!

As Buddha pointed out, unhappiness and suffering seem to be the plight of most humans, with a pathological inability to actually enjoy being alive on this miraculous planet !

What to do ?
